Basic Requirements

  • One person only – Make sure you’re the only person in the frame
  • Full body visible – Your entire body from head to toe should be in the shot
  • Clear lighting – Use good, even lighting without harsh shadows
  • Plain background – Stand against a simple, uncluttered background
  • Clear image quality – Avoid blurry or grainy photos. Use JPG, PNG, or WEBP format

Body Position

For Front and Back Views:

  • Stand upright with legs straight (no bent knees, stand naturally)
  • Keep feet parallel, pointing forward – approximately 10 cm apart
  • Arms relaxed at your sides, not raised or crossing your body
  • Head level, facing straight ahead (not tilted up or down)
  • Distribute weight evenly on both feet

For Lateral (Side) View:

  • Cross your arms on your chest
  • Keep both legs aligned vertically, one directly behind the other
  • Ensure shoulders are level and aligned side-by-side

Common Issues to Avoid

  • Hair – Tie back long hair so it doesn’t cover your shoulders, neck, or ears
  • Leg spacing – Don’t stand with legs too far apart (roughly shoulder-width is ideal)
  • Clothing – Wear minimal clothing (underwear is ideal) or form-fitting clothes that don’t obscure your body outline
